Councilmember Buscaino’s office will be hosting three housing rights workshops for tenants and landlords to learn about their rights and current city laws and regulations. The City of Los Angeles, unlike other cities, has a rent stabilization ordinance (RSO) which provides protection for most rental units built prior to 1979, including duplexes and condos. These protections are extended to both the landlord and tenant alike and provide for safer and fair living conditions. For questions about rent increases, eviction, or to report a code violation please contact the Housing and Community Investment Department. You can call 3-1-1 or visit their website at hcidla.lacity.org.
